  • Is an infrared sauna like a steam sauna?
Infrared saunas are known as a ‘dry’ heat, they emit invisible infrared waves that penetrate the body. A Steam sauna is a ‘wet’ heat generating moisture to loosen muscles, it uses stoves or rocks to heat the space. Both saunas are beneficial however infrared are more powerful despite the lower external air temperatures.
  • What do I wear into the sauna?
Minimal clothing is best - bathers, undergarments, shorts or a singlet. Please bring a change of loose clothes to wear after your sauna session.
  • Is it clean? How should I prepare for my experience?
The sauna is sterilised and cleaned after each session. Make sure you stay hydrated before, after and throughout the session.
  • What does a Chi Machine do for your body?
A chi machine oxygenates your body via a ‘passive aerobic exercise’. Activating lymphatic system and aligns the spine due to the motion of the machine. Helps the body to detoxify.
  • Does using a Chi Machine burn calories?
Yes, research shows it burns calories. Is especially beneficial for people with limited mobility.
  • Does it help with Bowel movements?
Alongside other holistic practices, the chi machine will be beneficial for people experiencing constipation. Recommended prior to a colon hydrotherapy session.
  • Is the system opened or closed?
At EHM we use a closed system. The Therapist is with you throughout the whole procedure and performs a gentle abdominal massage during treatment. Your therapist has full control over the settings, water temperature and pressure. Whilst they can educate you on your digestive system, nervous system and help to improve your overall general wellbeing. (Duration 25-45 minutes).
  • How are colonics different to enemas?
An enema only cleans out the lower part of the colon, sigmoid and rectal areas (1ft) however colonic treatments remove unwanted material from the whole colon (5ft). Colonics promote peristalsis which help muscles regain tone which influences regular bowel movements.
  • How many treatments are recommended?
Depending on the condition and client needs.
  • Are colonics painful?
Some discomfort may be experienced. Cramping may occur as waste is being expelled, however after some big releases you may feel relieved and relaxed. Most of the process is mild and gentle. Pressure can be adjusted by the practitioner if required.
  • How do colonics benefit your overall health?
Cleaning the colon with filter water in which helps to expel faecal build up and mucous. Removes harmful bacteria, assists in weight loss and leaves you feeling revived, rejuvenated and lighter.
  • Is it clean? How should I prepare for my experience?
We use disposable products and equipment for each client and ensure the area has been properly sterilised after each use. Preparing for your colonic you should make sure you are well hydrated. It is also recommended you refrain from eating two hours prior to your appointment.
  • Can I wear clothes in my red light therapy treatment or will makeup effect my treatment?
Make up is optional but not recommended. The skin to be treated needs to be fully exposed to the red lights, no clothes within the area is suggested.
  • Is red light therapy harmful to the skin will it burn or get hot?
No, the lights use a low level of heat so it does harm or burn the skin. It will not harm the surface of your skin or underlying tissues.
  • How long do I stay under the light for?
Shorter exposure is beneficial but more frequently. E.g once or twice a day for one or two weeks (Client depending) or maintenance.
